Comprehensive Solutions For Modern Brand Protection

Brand Protection

Mina’s brand protection solutions combine product authentication with the inspection and control procedures your business needs. Start by defining the problem: a counterfeit product, genuine goods sold outside an intended channel, or production beyond an agreed authorization.

These risks call for different checks. A useful programme identifies the physical item, sets out who can verify it and defines which records are needed for a follow-up decision.

Discuss your brand protection project

Match the control to the risk

  • Counterfeit products or packaging: assess an authentication feature on the product, label, tag or packaging, together with the appropriate inspection method.
  • Unauthorized overproduction: combine controlled issuance of marked labels or components with authorization and quantity records. A mark alone does not reconcile what a licensee was permitted to produce.
  • Product diversion: use identifiers, distribution records and field checks to investigate where genuine goods were intended to go. Diversion and counterfeiting are different problems.

For covert physical checks, explore invisible anti-counterfeiting technology. For label-based applications, compare security labels. Channel investigations can also involve the anti-diversion cloud platform.

Build the verification workflow around the people using it

Mina’s portfolio includes dedicated-device covert inspection and separate phone-readable AI Cloud Code options. Decide which checks belong with factory staff, distributors, field investigators or consumers. Confidential inspection data should not be assumed to be available through a public scan.

Where a covert code is linked to distribution information, define the records, access permissions and investigation process. A readable identifier cannot provide a reliable history unless the relevant events were recorded.

Define the protected object for watches and jewelry

For a watch or jewelry project, separate checks on the item, a component, a service part, a certificate and the packaging. Authentication of one object should not be presented as proof about every other object in the set.

Identify possible marking locations, appearance constraints and the people who would perform inspections. Discuss representative samples and the selected reading method before deciding whether a covert feature fits the application. Product authentication does not replace valuation, material grading or ownership documentation.

Read the watch and jewelry anti-counterfeiting guide for procurement questions to bring to the project discussion.

Set up a practical pilot

  1. Map the risk and protected object: identify the affected product families, packaging levels, production partners and channels.
  2. Select a suitable carrier: assess a printed feature, label or material-integrated route against the substrate, production process and likely inspection conditions.
  3. Define authorization controls: agree who can obtain marked materials, operate readers and access records. For licensing applications, include issuance and quantity reconciliation.
  4. Test the inspection procedure: use representative marked and unmarked samples, check operator consistency and define how uncertain or unexpected results will be reviewed.
  5. Review before expansion: examine readability, process fit, record completeness and investigation workload before extending the programme.

Use physical checks and records for different decisions

A covert authentication result can support an investigation into whether an expected security feature is present. It does not, on its own, establish product performance, regulatory compliance, ownership or the outcome of a dispute.

For production and distribution history, assess the identifier and data-capture workflow alongside the traceability cloud platform. Retain the relevant inspection and business records according to your organisation’s procedures.

Prepare a focused project enquiry

Tell Mina which risk you are investigating, what product or packaging must be protected, the materials and production processes involved, expected quantities and who will perform the checks. If channel or licensee control is required, describe the records you already hold and the decisions they need to support.
