Traceability Cloud Platform

Mina’s Traceability Cloud Platform is intended to connect product identifiers with recorded production and distribution information. A useful traceability project defines the object being tracked, the events being captured and the people who need to retrieve the records.

Begin with the question you need to answer: which production record belongs to an item, where a batch was dispatched, or which information a consumer may view. Coverage depends on the records actually captured and linked to the identifier.

Discuss your traceability workflow

Choose the level of identification

Decide whether the project needs batch, individual-item, carton or another packaging-level identification. If items are grouped into larger units, define how those relationships will be recorded and maintained when units are split or repacked.

Mina’s portfolio includes printed identifiers, high-temperature marking routes and covert features read by dedicated equipment. Select the carrier for the actual material, process and inspection conditions. See invisible anti-counterfeiting technology for the distinction between an authentication feature and a record lookup.

Specify the events and their source

A production or distribution history must be built from recorded events. Use a project specification to agree which of the following are needed:

  • Production: the relevant batch, work order, process step or release record.
  • Inspection: the check performed, its result, the responsible operator and the source document where applicable.
  • Movement: dispatch, receipt, transfer or return details for the chosen scope.
  • Record context: the identifier, event time, record source and correction procedure needed to interpret the history.

These are scoping requirements, not a promise that every event or existing system is connected automatically. Bring representative data and integration requirements for review.

Plan enterprise and consumer views separately

An enterprise user may need detailed production or shipment information. A consumer-facing query should show only the information chosen for public access. Agree on those views and responsibilities before rollout.

Phone-readable codes and confidential dedicated-device inspections have different access requirements. A successful code lookup is not, by itself, proof of physical authenticity, product quality or certification. Where the risk requires a physical check, plan it alongside the records.

Test the complete chain in a pilot

  1. Define one use case: select a product and a concrete lookup question.
  2. Mark representative samples: confirm that the chosen identifier remains readable after the relevant production and handling steps.
  3. Link and retrieve the records: check that the expected item or batch history is returned, and that missing or incorrect links can be identified.
  4. Review access and corrections: verify the agreed enterprise and public views, and decide how incomplete or corrected records will be handled.

If the main question is whether goods reached an intended channel, compare the anti-diversion cloud platform workflow. For internal production planning, read the item-level traceability manufacturing guide.

What to include in your enquiry

Send the product and material, required identification level, manufacturing conditions, events to capture, current record systems, expected volumes and intended query users. Include a sample record or process outline where available, and identify any consumer-facing information you want to provide.
