Mina’s product portfolio includes several routes. A feature suitable for a printed carton is not automatically suitable for a molded component or a fired ceramic surface.
- Printed packaging, labels and tags: covert inks and Micro-chain Code can carry authentication features within printed elements. Review ink, substrate, print process and reading conditions together.
- Rubber and plastic components: material-integrated markers can be assessed for selected formulations and manufacturing processes. Check the finished component, not just an untreated sample.
- Ceramic and other fired applications: discuss the appropriate high-temperature marking route, firing conditions and post-process readability. Performance must be confirmed for the selected product and process.

Anti-counterfeit masterbatch for molded plastic components
When the check needs to stay with a molded component after its packaging is removed, assess a material-integrated marker rather than relying only on a label. An anti-counterfeit masterbatch route needs to be evaluated with the selected resin, formulation and manufacturing process.
Prepare the resin grade, additives, molding conditions, part finish and intended inspection location for a pilot. Compare marked and unmarked finished parts, checking both the authentication response and the product properties relevant to your application. Do not assume that one formulation will suit every polymer.

Decide who will read the feature
The covert routes described here use Mina’s dedicated detection equipment for authorized inspection. Depending on the selected solution, a device can provide sound or image output. Reader access, operator training and the inspection procedure belong in the project scope.
Phone-readable AI Cloud Code is a separate option in Mina’s portfolio. A phone camera should not be assumed to read a dedicated-device covert feature. Consumer access and confidential inspection may need different features and workflows.
Plan a trial before production rollout
- Define the check: identify the protected object and the decision an inspector needs to make. Separate an authenticity check from a request for production or distribution records.
- Prepare representative samples: include the intended substrate, finish, application process and unmarked controls. Describe processing, wear, cleaning or environmental exposure relevant to the use case.
- Agree on acceptance criteria: assess appearance, process compatibility and repeatable reading under the intended inspection conditions. Include different operators where field use is expected.
- Review deployment requirements: confirm the marking location, reader access, production checks and handling of uncertain results before selecting a rollout scope.

Keep authentication and traceability distinct
Detecting a covert feature supports an authentication check. Retrieving an item’s history also requires an identifier, captured records and the appropriate system connections. Where that is required, discuss the traceability cloud platform as part of the workflow.
An authenticity result does not by itself establish product quality, safety or regulatory certification. Those requirements need their own evidence and testing.
